External awards available to students in the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø) teacher education programs through organizations and associations outside ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø and the University of Toronto.

Black Business & Professional Association (BBPA) National Scholarship Fund

The BBPA National Scholarship Fund is a national scholarship program dedicated to supporting and promoting the achievement of academic excellence by Black Canadian youth through an annual scholarship program. The fund receives financial donations from corporations and individuals that share its mission.

Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario's (ETFO) Scholarships & Awards

Ontario College of Teachers Scholarship Program

The Ontario College of Teachers Scholarship Program awards scholarships that provide financial support to teacher candidates. The program identifies exemplary role models and pays direct financial assistance to those with a passion for and dedication to the highest ideals of teaching.

The Ontario College of Teachers Scholarship Program offers three awards:

Joseph W. Atkinson Scholarship For Excellence In Teacher Education

This scholarship is named in honour of the College’s second registrar. Candidates must achieve outstanding academic achievement while demonstrating a high level of preparedness for teacher education.

Ontario College of Teachers Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Scholarship 

This scholarship is awarded to an Ontario teacher candidate in the Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate division. Applications are assessed on a recipient’s ability to demonstrate a high level of preparedness for teacher education through examples of community involvement, background and life experiences.

Ontario College of Teachers Intermediate/Senior Scholarship 

This scholarship is awarded to an Ontario teacher candidate in the Intermediate/Senior division. Applications are assessed on a recipient’s ability to demonstrate a high level of preparedness for teacher education through examples of community involvement, background and life experiences.

OSSTF/FEESO Faculty of Education Award

This award is granted to one graduating Intermediate/Senior or Technological Education Teacher Candidate at each English–speaking, publicly-assisted Ontario faculty of education.

RTOERO Scholarship Program

Each year the RTOERO awards up to 25 individual scholarships to assist the relative of a member who is enrolled in the final year of either an approved program that will directly lead to a career in teaching in Canada, or in a Canadian publicly funded or not-for-profit college/university.
